“Ibda’a” Bazaar in Homs… A Platform to Support Small Women’s Projects

Amid difficult economic conditions, community initiatives emerge as a means to support individuals, especially women, and to encourage them toward production and financial independence. Among these initiatives is the “Ibda’a” Bazaar in Homs, which serves as an important platform to support and market small projects, highlighting inspiring success stories of Homsian women, with notable youth participation.

The “Ibda’a” Bazaar was held at the Safir Homs Hotel, organized by the group “Small Creative Women,” aiming to assist small and micro-entrepreneurs by providing a suitable environment to market their products and generate income to help meet daily life requirements.

Ghazal Al-Tarsha, one of the bazaar organizers, explained that this was the 26th edition, including 60 participants from different age groups, from working women and housewives to children. Al-Tarsha added: “Through this event, we aim to support production despite the difficult economic conditions, because we believe that love and giving are the way to build a better future, and as we always say: with love, we will build it.”

Diverse Products and Support for Charity

The bazaar featured a wide range of products, including handmade crafts, crochet, homemade foods, and accessories, in addition to dedicated sections for charitable associations. Al-Tarsha emphasized the importance of supporting these organizations to help them find additional resources enabling them to perform their humanitarian role effectively.

Participants in the event stressed the importance of these markets in providing direct platforms to showcase their products, develop their skills, and understand market needs to advance their businesses in the future.

Raghad Al-Sayed Suleiman, owner of a healthy foods stall, spoke about her experience: “I started my project a year ago, and the bazaars were a great opportunity to market my products, especially since I work from home and do not have a private store.”

Meanwhile, Amani Massoud, owner of an accessories project, expressed her happiness at the return of these events. She noted that she started her activity through these bazaars 10 years ago, and after 6 years she managed to achieve capital that enabled her to open an independent shop.

Ms. Massoud also encouraged all women to start their projects and benefit from these important opportunities to move toward financial independence.

The “Ibda’a” Bazaar continues for several days, serving as more than just a marketplace for products. It is a platform that brings together stories of ambition and hard work, sending a message that willpower and creativity can overcome difficulties and build a brighter future for small project owners and the community as a whole.
