The Global Entrepreneurship Week Launches at Homs University
The Global Entrepreneurship Week events kicked off at the Information and Communication Technology Incubator at the Syrian Computer Society at Homs University. The events are organized by the Startup Syria initiative, with the participation of students, graduates, and a number of young entrepreneurs, aiming to enhance the presence of entrepreneurial projects and support innovation among students.
Engineer Hala Jahjah, director of the incubator, told SANA that the three-day program includes a series of activities aimed at students about to graduate and graduates who face difficulties in finding employment. She noted that the goal is to prepare this group for entering the labor market and provide them with the knowledge needed to establish their own projects in the tech field.
Jahjah explained that the program includes discussion seminars with entrepreneurs from the fields of informatics and mechatronics, in addition to intensive training in project financial studies and methods to persuade investors to partner.
Meanwhile, student Haider Ayash from the Faculty of Informatics Engineering stated that participating in the Global Entrepreneurship Week events gives students the opportunity to learn from the successful experiences of entrepreneurs who were able to turn simple ideas into startup projects, which serves as a practical motivation to start entrepreneurial initiatives.
Among the participants in the seminar, software engineer Hussam Farzat stated that their participation aims to “present practical experiences to young people and encourage them to develop ideas that can be transformed into products and companies in the market.”
It is worth mentioning that the Global Entrepreneurship Week is an international annual event aimed at promoting the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, supporting the startup ecosystem, and equipping youth with the skills needed in the labor market.
